1) This chart shows major budget categories for the State of California from fiscal years 2006-07 through 2008-09 and the
Governor's proposed budget for fiscal 2009-10 (as of January 9, 2009), sorted by category with largest to smallest State
Funding.
2) The budget generally is comprised of funds from multiple sources: State, Federal, non-government, and reimbursements.
3) This chart shows only the State Funds, comprised of the General Fund, special funds, and selected bond funds.
4) Clearly the Kindergarten through 12th Grade Education and Health and Human Services categories receive the vast majority
of state funding.
5) The impact of economic recession is clearly visible in California state funding.
